Great Narrow Double Stroller

Overall I think this is a great double stroller. I have a 6 month old and a 4 year old and this stroller works really well for us. First the things I like. The width is awesome. At 25 inches wide it is barely wider then our city mini single (1 inch) and almost the same as our single bob. I have yet to find a door I can't fit through. It handles very well and seems durable. On the complaints list is that it is heavy but not really any heavier then other double strollers, that is just a problem with all doubles in my opinion and it does take up a lot of space when folded. The folding itself is okay not great not terrible, it can be a little awkward but it's not complicated. As for size my 41 inch, 37 pound 4 year old still fits fine with the canopy up or down but she is getting close to the limit which is fine she will only be using it for another 6 months at most anyway. Both of my kids are very comfy in this stroller and the canopies provide very good but not amazing coverage (like say a city miini or cybex). I tested a lot of doubles before I got this one and you can't beat the convenience of this width.

Excellent stroller for twins

I have 4mth old boy/girl twins and I'm really loving this stroller. We had the baby jogger city select, and while we loved it with the car seats, it was really hard to push/turn as the kids got heavier.Now that the kids able to sit on their own, we decided to look at other options. We were always a big fan of the side by sides but couldn't get over the size of them. The Duo was just too heavy for my wife, and the BOB Duallie was just too big. This is where the city select did great because it was light, small, BUT dealing with the car seat adaptors and seats was a pain.When I heard about the DUET, we had to go see it. We loved the look of mountain buggy and we instantly knew that this stroller would work for us. Please note that my review is based on how well the stroller performs as advertised, and not what I think an ideal stroller should be.Size - perfect for our little ones. There's lots of room to grow, but the seats are definitely smaller than other side by side strollers out there. But I would rather deal with that later, and be able to fit through doorways and take the kids grocery shopping.Mobility - smooth! No rattling as reported from a previous reviewer. I could turn the buggy with one hand easily where as the baby jogger required 2 hands on at all times.Quality - Right up there with most quality strollers. A reviewer noted that there was a huge hole, but I don't see that. The sun shades are massive! I'm sorry, but if you're out in the rain and you're worried about the little hole in the right, I'm wondering what you're thinking about the giant hole where your kids are sitting...that's what rain shields are for...Weight - it's a bit heavy, but you're also not removing any pieces off in order to fold it. We have a Honda Odyssey and my wife 5'2" has no problem getting it in and out.Overall we love it, and really have no complaints!***update after 14 months***Well my twins are now 19months and they are on the larger side. They are about 32" tall and weight 25 & 28 lbs. They still fit in the stroller but it is getting tight.With the side by side they tend to fight, this might not affect you as much, but my kids really have a love hate relationship. I'm still glad that we got rid of the babyjogger city select because my friend has it and it's very heavy to steer and is someone unstable coming off curbs (ramped).I've only pumped the tires twice and it was easy to do. This stroller still rolls as smooth as day one. The only issue we had was that the brake got stuck. We called MB and they sent us a tube of grease to use on the brake and now it's smooth again. You can use any lube if you don't want to wait. I had a can of silicon spray and that worked.

Sounds good on paper!

I ordered the Mountain Buggy Duet because I was looking for a narrow, all-terrain double for my 22 month old twins. I LOVE my Babyjogger City Mini double, but have found that as my boys get bigger, it's getting heavier to push and not the best in all-terrain situations. It's also a bit wide for many stores as all doubles are. I also have a Schwinn Freewheeler double which is light and glides effortlessly with both heavy boys, but it's wide, doesn't have a belly bar, and pitches the kids too far back to see anything at zoos, etc. So, the Duet seemed like the perfect match of both strollers and it would fit in department stores! I was so excited to find it.First, I returned this stroller so my review is based on testing it around my home. Unfortunately, the problems with the stroller were pretty obvious right out of the box.The bad:Both of my boys are under 20% for height and the sunshades with visors rested right at eye level. With the visors tucked in, they were not adequately covered from the sun. The seat back is high enough for now, but doesn't have much room to grow.The biggest issue is the seat width and depth. AMAZON HAS THE SEAT WIDTH LISTED AS 12" BUT IT IS 11". My 22 month old is stocky at 32 lbs., but remember he is on the short side, so I figured he'd be fine in the narrow seat. What the description doesn't tell you is that though the seat is only 1 inch narrower than the BJCM, it has NO GIVE on the sides. My poor little guy was so jammed in at the shoulders in just a tank top so there was no way he was fitting with a sweatshirt and forget a winter coat! Also, the seat depth is only 7 inches which is way shorter than the BJCM and my jogging stroller (and most every stroller on the market). I'm not sure why they felt the need to make this seat so shallow as a couple more inches depth wouldn't interfere with the frame. My son likes to pull up on the belly bar and he was hanging out of the stroller completely exposed. This concerned me for sun exposure but also for crashing into store aisles and other shoppers. I like that the BJCM contains kids in a way that even if they are pulled up on the bar, they are still mostly covered, especially on the sides.The other part about this stroller that I was very disappointed in was the ride. I know everyone said it was so great to handle, but my boys are a combined weight of 56 lbs. This is well below the 79 lb. weight limit and it was slow and hard to turn. Again, this was in my house on carpet, tile, and hardwood, but I'm thinking it would be worse outdoors on rough terrain! I found turning it slightly more difficult than the BJCM and that's NOT an all-terrain stroller.The fold isn't great. Mine was very sticky and I needed force I didn't have in my fingers to undo the latches. Then it has a manual strap and click lock which is a pain when you have two screaming toddlers in the car. It is heavy and hard to lift into the back of my car. Granted, I am 5'1" and I am used to my other strollers which are both under 27 lbs, but I also am used to hefting a 32 lb. squirming toddler so I didn't think it would feel so heavy but it did.Another issue that some might overlook but I anticipated being an issue in the hot summer sun is the fact that it's made from heavy black canvas and the kick plate is metal. I imagined my guys' chubby little feet burning on that hot metal plate. It also seemed very easy to scratch up.The storage underneath is not very large or contained and difficult to get to.The good:To be fair, it is extremely narrow and very sleek. I wish it fit my bigger child and handled better because I would overlook the other smaller issues if it did. The adjustable handle is nice and it seems pretty well made. This is the first MB I've ever seen so I can't comment on the quality since Phil and Ted's purchased the company, but I thought the fabric seemed sturdy and the frame was well-built.The length and height of the stroller was fabulous for a short mom like me, but was still comfortable for my husband to push with adjustable handle.The recline is nice but my boys don't sleep in the stroller so this wasn't an issue for me.The belly bar is included and is nice, but is not adjustable as noted. It doesn't bend up or down like other strollers.OVERALL IMPRESSIONThis is a beautiful, narrow stroller for twins in their first 2 years. If they made it in 2010 when my boys were born I would have bought it in a second. This is not the stroller for older kids or for the growing family unless you can guarantee your kids will stay short and skinny. I am now ordering the BJCM GT for my boys, hoping it will be the (almost) perfect mix of shopping and outdoor stroller. I'll review that one when I receive it.
