Held up well in rear end collision

Our 8 month old was in this car seat installed in our minivan. The van was hit by a vehicle driving at least 35MPH at time of impact, forcing our vehicle (from a stop) into a curb and the vehicle in front of it. Our baby was just fine - this system is perfectly safe; so much so we bought the same one to replace it.In addition, it only takes common sense to use this travel system as a whole. Its pretty self explanatory.

HATE IT! HATE IT! HATE IT!

I'm the babysitter, and I guess that I just assumed that all strollers would be good. I WAS WRONG! The car seat is very difficult to use. The release button to get the car seat out of the base and the stroller is at a very wrong location. There is not enough room to work it. When the car seat is in the stroller, it sits in too much of a vertical position. The poor baby's head falls forward. The same thing happens in just the car seat base, but not near as bad. The release buttons on the handles are terrible. There is no texture on the handles, so my hands slip nearly every time. I can't get a good grip, not to mention that they are much smaller than other brands. They don't work as easily or as smoothly as they should. It is the most awkward thing to fold up. There is not a window in the canopy to see into the stroller. It's just like a vent thing...crazy .Also, I was putting sunscreen on the baby, and a little got on the car seat IT WILL NOT COME OUT! I don't normally rate items, but I felt that EVERYONE NEEDS FOREWARNED! One last thing, the storage is terrible. It does not hold a normal size diaper bag. SO ANNOYING!

I read many reviews about this seat before I purchased it for our son. I do not like the car seat at all! My main complaint is the mechanism to snap him into place. You have to interlock the two pieces and it is nearly impossible because the latch that you put it into does not come up very far. With the "bundle me" on the seat this winter it was infuriating to snap my son into the seat. Also, it does make my son quite warm (as referenced in other reviews) and the side releases are hard to put the handle down. I cannot wait to purchase the convertible seat to replace this car seat!We just started using the stroller and so far I really like it.
