5A year later & still love it!
By C. Baldwin
I got this stroller system while I was pregnant w/ my 1st child. I did not want a bulky, heavy travel system like the many Graco ones. I figured I would be able to get by w/ a carrier, snap&go and an all-terrain/jogger like stroller. Over a year later - I was so RIGHT w/ this system! The Carrier/Carseat: The Flex-loc carrier is great!!! It is amply padded, light weight and the triangle handle is genius - lets you get a firm/steady grip on it from any angle. The sunshade is large and is not attached to the back like so many other carriers - this lets you "follow-the-sun" and keep baby's face shaded at all times, key when walking outdoors. Yes - the fabric of the seat is not as soft or "high-end" feeling as some other carriers but after a year of use I have found it to be very easy to clean & has kept its cushion perfectly. We used an extra soft/padded insert from 0-5 months (about $20 at BabiesRus) and my daughter was plenty comfy. My daughter is 14mo & I now have to change to a convertible carseat and am very sad to say good bye to this carrier. The Jogger: My sister has a BOB revolution and I wouldn't trade if she paid me! The jogger does have some cons - I'll get to them 1st so I can get to the pro's.Cons: Bulky when folded, heavy to lift into the car, double foot breaks are kind of cheap & a pain w/ flip-flops, fabric & padding are not as soft or cushiony as many other strollers (tip: etsy.com has tons of super cute stroller liners to add extra padding & comfort - I have one & it made all the difference - BeloBe makes specifically for this stroller).Pros: comes w/ parent bar (2 cup holders & a decent size/secure compartment - fits cell, chap-stick, ear-buds, paci & sm bottle of hand-sani easily), contoured handle bar is comfortable for running - unlike the strait bars which prop your elbows up too high, sunshade is huge & fully moveable to "follow-the-sun" & keep baby shaded at all times, child tray w/ 2 cup holders and large inset tray area for toys & snacks, wide seat base, reclines to almost flat (definitely enough for child to sleep comfy or change a diaper), large rear wheels & swivel front tire make steering a breeze - easily one-handed over smooth terrain like beach paths, large & durable storage basket - may say 5lb limit but I've had a gallon of milk & 10lb bag of dog food in it w/ no problem. This is a stroller you can actually RUN behind. Lock the front wheel and go - I was able to run a 8.16min mile (which is almost as fast as I can go on my own & definitely faster than "jogging"). I do not suggest jogging w/ the carrier attached tho - while it does lock-in & will not just pop off, I found it made the whole system too unsteady/top-heavy for my taste, a brisk walk or light jog is fine tho. I use it to walk & jog at the beach, camping, on nature trails, around the park and thru my neighborhood & never wished I had sprung for a BOB or other high-end jogger.Overall - Best Jogger travel system for the price range & functionally comparable to many higher-end joggers. It is not a "every-day" stroller tho - is too bulky & heavy to be pulling in&out of the car multiple times a day or trying to wheel thru the mall. But for your carseat & outdoor/heavyduty stroller it cannot be beat for the price. After 14 months of use I am even happier w/ it than on the 1st day I used it.

4Been jogging with this stroller since 2008
By Mommy's World
I got the 2008 model for a baby show gift 2 years ago. It was easy to assemble, I did it myself. I have been using it on a regular basis now, I probably jog about 10-12 miles a week and it still works like new. The place I jog at is very hilly and curvy a hand brake would make it easier to maneuver, but over all it does pretty well. Since I have been using it for so long I have found ways to overcome it. It works just as well in town, as in the country, or beach, or camping. When my son was younger the snap and go car seat worked great. Now he is two and I have a new baby and I am using the car seat for him and it still works just as well. We are now looking for a double jogger for me, but until then I use this one while my husband watches my other son.Pros: 12" Swivel wheel that locks well in jogging mode Sun shade is not attached to stroller handle bar so it can be moved to block son Fits in most doorways so great for shopping Has a large basket underneath Comes with car seat and snap n' go base Has a wrist strap for jogging that works greatCons: no hand brake (but so fare no one makes swivel well jogging strollers with a hand brake) When folded it take up a lot of room, no problem if you have a large vehicle like an SUV or mine van For long runs on rugged tureen shakes a lot car seat snap n' go car seat only works with Baby trend productsOver all I am very happy with this model. For just a basic jogging stroller without the extras this works great in walking and jogging mode and it is durable for the money. I would recommend it to anyone looking for the basics.

4Stroller is great, carseat is ok
By MI Mom
I have had this travel system since 2007, and I have used it for both of my children.Pros: the stroller is great! It fits through doors well, and the carseat snaps right in. We have taken it off road, in snow, over dirt, etc. which is why we got a jogging stroller not a regular one. As my son grew, he fits great, lots of storage, cupholders, etc. It was easy to put together (the stroller) and has not had any problems. I find it fits fine in my car or suv. The seat fits into a base, so getting it in and out is easy. It can use a regualr seatbelt if you are in another car, but it's kind of a pain. My kids outgrew it before I needed to turn it around, but you can easily rotate the base and make it forward facing if you need to after 1 year. I do like that it snaps easily into the base and into the strollerCons: I really dislike the carseat. The straps are VERY difficult to re-thread, which you must do all the time because you have to take them out to untangle the straps, which happens all the time. When you push the button to loosen the straps, it only loosens one side, and then you have to pull the other strap to even it out. Overall, I really dislike the carseat part of this system.

2Maclaren Triumph
By E. Villarreal
We bought the Maclaren Triumph because we needed a lightweight, easy to use stroller. After checking out various brands, we got a Maclaren because of the great reviews.I like the fact that the Maclaren triumph stroller is lightweight and folds almost flat (umbrella fold). It does a good job for quick trips, or for taking my daughter to daycare. The 5 second Maclaren fold usually takes me longer than 5 seconds, but it is really easy. The opening takes longer though, and I have sometimes pinched my foot on one of the bars while trying to push down the other.I also like the fact that it came with a raincover, so we didnt have to spend extra on it.Unfortunatly thats about it....Now, as for what I dont like.... its a longer list:1. It doesnt fully recline, nor is it ever fully upright, so its just a bit uncomfortable for my daughter, and almost impossible to nap, unless she is very very tired, and even then, the nap will not last too long.2. The seat ist very padded, I especially dislike that her legs are just dangling off the stroller and the bar at the end of the seat is metal, and although its covered in fabric it just feels too hard. On the same note, the footrest isnt adjustable, so I think her legs are going to be dangling for a very long time.2. The hood is very small, so it only works to shade her if the sun is directly above. If you live in a sunny, hot place, or plan to use this stroller for a trip, like say, Disney, I would think about it twice since the sun protection is minimal.3. The wheels are very small plastic ones, so its a bouncy ride!4. The underneath basket is small, and when you keep the raincover in it, you can forget about even having a basket, except for essentials, like a small blanket or a couple of bottles, but I can't see how a regular diaper bag would fit.5. The raincover is easy to put on, you just have to hook it on the 4 different hooks, but its not sturdy, meaning my 16 month old can easily kick it off, and has been known to poke her head out the side.6. The harness, gets stuck ALL the time. I have had some long fights trying to get my daughter out and it will get undone on one side, but I cant get it undone on the other... maybe its just mine, but it really bothers me.7. The handles are foam coated, which is a good idea, except that after 1 year of use the foam is wearing off so the quality isnt great. I also have to say they are positioned a bit oddly, after a few minutes of pushing the stroller, my hands just feel tired. I like the Quinny Zapp's handles much better. So, I gave it 2 stars, because for the price, even though it is an umbrella stroller I was expecting a bit more.

4Easy to handle strollerb
By Hemanth
We love this stroller and so does our 18 month old. He picked it out when he was just 12 months old. He preferred it hands down to any other stroller in the store :). Of course it was our preference as well. The weight of the stroller was a big selling point. It's really easy for my wife to get it into the trunk of our SUV and I love how easy it is to get through security at an airport. Collapsing it and expanding it is very simple and we've never had problems with it. We use it 3 times a day to take the dogs for a walk on the rough sidewalks where we live and the wheels have held up well. The only thing I can knock on this stroller is the storage compartment underneath. When my son is reclined it becomes very difficult to put things into the compartment and get them out. Also, this can not be used (as some people do) as a shopping cart when walking through the mall or airport. The stroller will flip over if you hang something too heavy on the handle bars.

2Doesn't have an upright position
By momina
In my opinion, Maclaren makes strollers purposely NOT PERFECT so that you have to either buy tons of accessories or go for the higher version. Compared to quest, this stroller doesn't really recline neither go upright. The upright most position still made my one year old daughter sit with half of her back swirled. You tighten a strip that is on the back manually to make the seat upright. It works well in theory but my daughter's weight pushes the seat far more back. Degreewise there is a 5 degree recline when you use the strip that is on the back. Well, there is a recline to the seat and with the 5 degree recline she sits more comfortable. But, neither of the two positions are upright or laying down. It's the awkward leaning back seat which doesn't allow my daughter to sleep nor to look outside. The recline is 5 degree at the most. I am returning the stroller.

5Great value, a real workhorse!
By W. P. Voltz
My husband and I looked at dozens of strollers from $60 up to $1000. With all the great, safe options on the lower end of the price range we decided early on that we weren't going for broke when it came to a stroller or carseat. After reading as many reviews on the Graco Alano that we could find, we took the plunge. We're so glad we did.My husband assembled it with no problem--I helped, but since he's the one with a design degree I gladly let him take over! We've had it two months and yes--we've used it many, many times with the baby in it--I'm always baffled by reviewers who review something when they haven't really used it yet! The car seat was super easy to install, and we took our little one home from the hospital in it. The whole system is rather lightweight compared to other models (I checked out the Quattro and thought no way I'm hoisting that in and out of the car all day long!) I can actually lift the Alano over curbs while our (now 10 lb) baby is in it, and it's no problem to get it into the trunk space of our Ford Escape. It's very easy to grasp and the weight is well distributed. I love to walk and it handles amazingly well, especially considering that New Orleans has some of the worst "sidewalks" in the country. The Alano just glides over everything...I walked her in it after Hurricane Isaac and had no problems. The breaks are great and it's comfortable to push (and my hands never cramp or get sweaty). Another plus is that the tires aren't inflatable, so no worries about a flat. It handles rain well--the car seat and stroller have interlocking covers that form what I call my baby's "nuclear protection shield." Same thing for sun--we have an intense UV index here and a very pale baby, and that's one of the main reasons why I chose this. Ventilation seems good--she has gotten a little sweaty once or twice, but when it's literally 98 degrees out you can't help it. The "viewing" window isn't the greatest, but it's very easy to lift the cover with one hand if you want to take a peek at your baby. Whenever I do, she always seems happy.A few other features I absolutely love are the parent console and the storage basket on the bottom. The console fits everything I need at arms's reach--cell phone, keys, two water bottles, even my "doggie" bags (I actually like walking the dog better with this stroller--it's so much easier to store his stuff too:-). The basket fits a TON, including my giant Keith Haring diaper bag, blankets, groceries--you name it. My husband is 6'2", I'm 5'6" and both of us can push the stroller just fine without bumping or kicking it. I've even gone over a few nasty puddles with the Alano and my stuff has stayed dry, so it must be positioned at just the right height. As for cleaning, some parts of the stroller fabric are removable for washing while others aren't. It's a synthetic material so it repels liquids well and is easy to clean. For the non-machine washable parts, the instructions say to wipe with a damp cloth. When needed, I've just wiped it down with a homemade cleaner of water, baby soap and a dash of essential oil (I was thrilled to find that the straps for the car seat didn't stain after being subjected to formula spit-up!).Now onto the things that I'd like to see modified (I wouldn't really call them cons, just features that show room for improvement). The car seat is cavernous for infants, which is probably to be expected. Her head would bend to the side and there was no support. We remedied that with a Kiddopotamous liner (I think they call it a "snuzzler"). They're about $20 and well worth it, not just for the support but also for the fact that they're easy to remove and toss in the washer if need be. Next, the stroller seat doesn't fully recline. It's not that big of a deal and the great features far outweigh this small detail but it would be nice. And last, I think that the form of this stroller is in line with modern design but the colors are rather dated. They will probably never stain and are definitely easy to keep clean, but gray and green plaid remind me a bit too much of the early 90s (my husband and I have taken to calling it the "grunge stroller"). Not a reason to deter me from buying the system, but more variety would be nice. All in all though, this stroller is great and I'd recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat!By the way, I know how much stuff is out there and how much effort discerning new moms put into shopping for baby gear. I also know what it's like to be sleep-starved and find the product that makes your day--or makes you want to scrap it and move on. I aim to write thorough reviews and give all the juicy details I can. If you've found my review helpful I would love positive feedback! And if there's any other info I can give you don't hesitate to ask!UPDATE: Thought I'd post an update now that my little one is 6 months old. The stroller has held up beautifully and I wouldn't change a thing about my initial review. I'm appreciating the lightweight, compact design of both the stroller and carseat now that my girl is getting bigger. The only thing that's different is that when she was about 5 months I broke down and bought an additional jog stroller just for fitness walking. As I got back in shape my walks started getting longer and brisker...true, I could've gotten by with just the Alano but I prefer having something where all the wheels don't track together--it makes navigating bumpy terrain easier without breaking my stride. I now keep the Alano in the car and use it primarily for shopping or shorter walking trips as the jog stroller is way too heavy and a PITA to fold and unfold. Wish I could find one thing that could hit all the sweet spots, but I'm still really happy with the versatility of our two-stroller system!

5Great value -very sturdy!
By AlliesMomAK
I purchased these when Amazon had a 20 percent off sale on selected Graco, and I am SO GLAD I did. This particular pattern/color was not available at a retailer in my area, and I am so very happy with the selection I made. The stroller was easy to put together and using the carseat base is a breeze! The basket under the stroller has plenty of room (I even use it for grocery shopping) and my baby sleeps comfortably. One of my best baby purchases by FAR, and the value was unparalled.

5Works great
By ISB
I got this for my first baby. I like the colors and there seems to be enough padding to make my daughter comfortable. I havn't had a problem with the assemply or it holding together. The car seat fits really well in the base and stroller. It isn't that heavy either so I can lift the stroller over my front step with no problem.
